| Jon Gordon has been an advertising, editorial, corporate and fine art photographer, for over twenty-five years. At age nineteen, his work with manipulated Polaroids, was included in several national exhibitions, and soon led to a grant from the Polaroid Corporation. Los Angeles Magazine referred to his work as “impressionistic gems” and named him one of ten California photographers that “the smart money has already endorsed.” Jon’s work is included in numerous museum, corporate and private collections, including Bank of America and Chase Manhattan Bank. Jon brings a deep and abiding sense of empathy to his portrait work, concerned not just with surface appearances, but with that which resides within each of his subjects. These images convey a wide range of human emotions, from thoughtful to whimsical. Whether working with people, the natural environment, or inanimate objects, Jon’s photographs are characterized by a strong sense of visual playfulness. He seeks to capture special moments of singular beauty, or invent unseen worlds hidden just below the surface. Jon lives in the Los Angeles area with his wife, actress-singer Maripat Davis, son Patrick, and their four Pug dogs, Daisy, Sadie, Minnie and Romeo. |
